Resource Guide - Constitution Day

(SAN JOSE, CA) - In 2005, the U.S. Department of Education announced that every educational institution that receives federal funds should provide an educational program on the U.S. Constitution for its students.

Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787, recognizing all who are born in the U.S. or by naturalization, have become citizens.

This day provides an opportunity for schools to learn about this important document, its history, and its significance in our daily lives.

We have assembled a list of resources to help educators promote this important observance. The resources we have gathered are inclusive and can work with many student groups from grades three through 12.
